This beginner-friendly class will delve into the Rogaland style of rosemaling, which originated in the southwestern corner of Norway and is known for its symmetrical design of flowers, scrolls, and limited color palette. In this class, you will explore the history of rosemaling, discover its many regional styles, and learn what makes the Rogaland style so beautiful.
We will start with the building blocks of all rosemaling, the C and S strokes, then move on to flowers, leaves, scrolls, and linework. By the end of the day, you'll leave with a lovely hand-painted piece to enjoy.
