Michelle Carlson

Michelle Carlson is a Norwegian Rosemaler and painter living in Grand Rapids, MN. She was born and raised in St. Cloud, MN and eventually worked her way "up north" to the lake and forests. For the last 34 years, she has enjoyed the folk art of Norwegian culture which includes fanciful flowers, scrolls and linework. She has learned many of the different styles but continues to take classes from Vesterheim Gold Medalists. Her favorite styles are Telemark, Rogaland and Hallingdal. She loves being in her painting studio, being on the lake, enjoying a good sauna, and just relaxing (hygge) with her husband and cats.
