Writing Spoken Word for Performance (2-day class)

Registration for this class opens to MMFS members on November 10, and then to the general public on November 12, 2026. Not a member yet? You can sign up here.

This writing workshop, led by award-winning Spoken Word artist Desdamona Ross, will introduce participants to the art of writing for performance. Through guided writing exercises, creative prompts, discussion, and performance techniques, you will explore how to turn personal stories and imagination into compelling Spoken Word.

You will write, revise, give and receive critical feedback and rehearse in a supportive environment, concluding with an informal sharing of your work. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to explore and share.
