This class will open for registration during our Fall Festival on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

In this hands‑on workshop, you’ll learn to prepare kapuśniak (a rustic sauerkraut soup), zupa ogórkowa (creamy, dill‑forward pickle soup), and żurek (a beloved sour rye soup made with a fermented rye starter).

We’ll explore the foundations of great soup‑making, including making broths from scratch, balancing acidity, layering aromatics, and working with fermented ingredients. Each recipe will include both meat‑based and vegetarian variations, so you can adapt the dishes to your own kitchen and dietary needs.

Throughout the class, you’ll chop, simmer, season, and taste as we cook together. You’ll enjoy generous samples of each soup and take home containers of your creations, along with detailed recipes and cultural context.

This workshop is perfect for anyone who loves hearty, soulful cooking and wants to bring a taste of Poland into their home.
