Mr. Penning’s Woodshop is an open, lecture-style workshop exploring the skills and techniques of woodworking. Named after instructor Dick Osgood’s junior high woodshop teacher, this workshop series is designed to inspire beginners, hobbyists, mentors and anyone interested in developing a woodworking hobby or practice.
In this first class, you will be introduced to the craft of woodworking by reviewing woods, tools, techniques, and projects. This introductory class will provide an overview of a wide range of woodworking topics as well as responding to participants’ input for the structure, content and topics for future classes.
This workshop series is designed to help aspiring woodworkers get started on the right foot toward a rewarding lifelong hobby, and is great for parents, grandparents or mentors accompanying younger, developing and aspiring woodworkers. A wide range of topics will be covered through presentations, occasional guest speakers, and demonstrations. You won’t be board!
