Try out nålbinding, an ancient textile tradition that can be traced back to the Bronze Age. This single-needle fiber technique preceded knitting and crochet and has roots around the world, but has been especially well preserved in Scandinavia.
In this short intro class, students will make their own wooden nålbinding needle, the only tool necessary in this highly portable craft. Next, we will learn a little about the history of nålbinding around the world and practice several nålbinding stitches. You will create your own bag during class and will leave with the knowledge and tools to continue your nålbinding journey!
