This class is an introductory class for those who have wanted to learn the traditional Norwegian folk art practice of rosemaling. Rosemaling translates to “rose painting” in Norwegian, and developed in rural Norway during the 18th century. The artform involves freehand painting with “C” and “S” strokes to create flowing scrolls, lines, and flowers.
In this class, you will practice rosemaling as you paint 4 coasters. The instructor will provide step by step instructions on basic strokes that form the foundation of rosemaling.
