Kids in Nature: Fall

Celebrate the changing season through hands-on exploration, discovery, and play in nature. Kids in Nature: Fall is a family workshop designed for children ages 3–8 and their caregivers to experience autumn through engaging, developmentally appropriate outdoor activities. Families will participate in a fall color hunt, mud exploration, and open-ended loose parts play while discovering the wonders of the season. Children will create their own nature geoboard using real tools, and investigate why leaves change color through a simple chlorophyll experiment. A seasonal story and snack are also included, providing opportunities for connection and reflection.

 

Rooted in evidence-based early childhood practices, this workshop supports curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, sensory exploration, and social-emotional development. Caregivers will learn simple ways to encourage learning through outdoor play and observation while strengthening family connections in nature.

 

About the Instructor: Megan Connors

 

Instructor will provide the following: 

All project materials, including hammers, nails, wood cookies, jars, chlorophyll strips, paint brushes, paper, towels, rubber bands, and a snack to enjoy during storytime.

 

Students are asked to bring:

Wear weather appropriate attire.

 

Skill Level 

No experience required. 

 

Age Recommendation   

Class is designed for ages 3-8 and their caregiver(s); younger and older siblings are also welcome to attend. Price is per family / group. Please specify the names and ages of all participants upon registration.

Tuition: $60 per family/group
