Fused Glass Jewelry Workshop

Join Twin Cities-based glass artist Susan Tracy for a hands-on workshop where you’ll design and create four unique fused-glass necklaces—perfect for holiday gifting or adding something new to your own jewelry collection.

 

In this class, you'll learn the basics of glass fusing, plus different techniques for each project, working with colorful sheet and accessory glass, reactive glass, and sparkly materials like dichroic flakes and silver. Your designs will be fused for you after class by the instructor in her studio, and mounted on silver-plated findings. You'll also receive a silver-plated chain for each necklace.

 

You will be notified when they are available for pick-up at Marine Mills Folk School a few weeks after class.

 

About the Instructor: Susan Tracy

 

Instructor will provide the following: 

All supplies for this fused glass workshop, including:

• crushed, dichroic, flaked & sheet glass

• jewelry findings, including necklace chains

• mica and silver 

• diamond pads for polishing

• glass cutters, grinders, nippers

• tweezers and pliers 

• safety gloves, masks & glasses

• scales

 

Students are asked to bring:

Optional: reading glasses (if worn) for close-up work.

 

Skill Level 

No experience required. 

 

Age Recommendation

Students ages 18 and older are welcome to attend this class.
