Use linocut tools to carve rubber stamps depicting your favorite legend from folklore! Cryptids are creatures claimed to exist based on folklore and eyewitness accounts, but whose existence has never been proven or verified by mainstream science. Get as spooky as you want– vampires? Baba Yaga? Yes! Loch Ness Monster? Big Foot? Moth Man? Yes! Yes! Yes!
The source of inspiration is up to you. You’ll carve a stamp depicting your favorite creature – or invent one of your own! Draw a simple design or work from a picture you bring from home.
Participants receive a carving block approximately 4x5 inches in size. You can carve one large image or a few smaller ones. You’ll stamp a few cards using your creature designs in class, and then take your stamps home to create more artwork on your own.
